The Thrill is Gone: I Crushed My Crush

You're never too old for a crush. You're never too grown to fawn over a sexy specimen, that seemed to have been specifically engineered by the hand's of God for your own personal consumption. Being shy and horny while looking at someone you think you'd never have is what life is all about. Crushing your crush and the thrill leaving the room shortly after like a smell grown accustomed to by a set of moist nostrils is also what life is about.

Great conquerors knew the thrill of taking possession of uncharted land and then becoming bored and restless with their conquests. What's better than the mystery of not knowing and playing in the rays of warmth and uncertainty that unconquered lust produces? These are the moments that makes us blush when we tell our closest friend of the person we admire. The thought of us ever obtaining them or not makes us laugh in unison, chuckles dance and bounce off each other in the summer air.

Vile. What a vile feeling it is to unwrap an experience and it not be as it seemed before it was in your possession? What a let down... Crushing a crush is like that. You obtain them. You were nervous at first, because you were chasing them and were enchanted by the twists and turns that your prey had. Catching up is exciting and exciting is sexy. Somewhere along that chase they gave up and let you put your trembling hands around them. Pupils dilated, breaths short and rib cage flushing- you experienced. You had everything they had to offer. With one brisk flail you took the cape that hid the obscure figure of the unknown- who would've known it was a sham under that attractive cape of mystery.

Disappointment might be an understatement. The thrill left you swiftly. Once you crush a crush and a chuckling joker replaces the person you once adored and all you want to do is leave. All you want to do is get as far away as your quick feet will take you, once the thrill is gone.

Have you ever had a crush? When was the last time you had a crush? Are you ever too old for one(crush)? Have you ever experienced a person that wasn't at all what you though they would be? Do you wish they that you never had experienced them, so that the perfect thought could still exist?

S,
Love this! Great use of metaphor throughout the post. I do think this would've gone over better as a "what to do when" or a personal account.

Nobody is ever too old for a crush! Personally, crushes come with feelings that I hate that I love: anticipation and anxiety. There's nothing like hoping you'll run into ______ but not even knowing what you'll say if you do. As for my experiences, I don't regret anything in regards to my last crush. I learned a lot (about others as well as about myself) through him. Keep up the good work!
